Airport transfer — how to plan your pickup time
The most common question before an airport transfer is what time to be picked up. Below is a practical way to calculate timing for departures from Wrocław, Prague and Katowice, plus a list of details worth passing on to your driver when booking.
Count backward from your departure time, not from when you leave home
The best way to work out your pickup time is to count backward from departure. Add the recommended time at the airport: usually 2 hours for domestic flights and flights within the Schengen zone, and 2.5–3 hours for flights outside Schengen. On top of that, allow a buffer for traffic entering the city and for picking up several people from different addresses.
For a trip from Wałbrzych to Wrocław Airport we plan for roughly 1 hour 20 minutes of driving, with extra time during rush hour. For Prague Airport the route is longer — we set the pickup time individually once we have your flight number.
A simple way to calculate it
- Departure time minus check-in and security time (2–3 hours)
- Minus the approximate driving time for the route
- Minus a buffer for traffic and weather conditions
- Minus the time needed to pick up other passengers, if they board elsewhere
Return flights and delays
For arrivals you don't need to add any buffer yourself — just give us the flight number. We track the actual landing time and adjust the pickup accordingly, including delays and night flights. The driver waits in the arrivals hall and helps with luggage.
It's worth allowing time for checked baggage collection and passport control on flights from outside the Schengen zone — typically an extra 20–40 minutes after landing.
