Sightseeing in Lower Silesia with a private driver
Lower Silesia has an unusually dense network of attractions — castles, adits, spa towns and mountains all sit within 120 km of Wałbrzych. Below we show how to put together a realistic one-day plan so you don't spend it on car parks and transfers.
The rule of three stops
For a one-day trip, a maximum of three main stops works best. Visiting a castle or an adit realistically takes 1.5–2 hours including entry and a break, plus travel time and a meal. Four or more attractions usually means rushing and dropping the last stop.
With a private driver you save time at places where car parks are far from the entrance — the car pulls up right at the entrance and picks the group up at an agreed point after the visit.
The classic route: castles and baroque
- Książ Castle in Wałbrzych together with the Palm House — the largest castle in the region
- Krzeszów — a monastery complex with a basilica and the Piast Mausoleum
- The Church of Peace in Świdnica — a UNESCO World Heritage site
The mountain route: the Karkonosze and the Jelenia Góra Valley

The industrial and spa route

What to keep in mind when planning
Most sites are only open at set hours, and some require booking a specific entry time — worth checking before you fix the order of stops. Admission tickets are not included in the price of the transfer.
Pickup times and the order of stops are agreed before setting off, but the plan can be adjusted during the day by phone. A 4x4 vehicle also handles mountain routes and winter conditions well.
